2 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV)“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”

Opening Prayer:

Father, we come before You with open hearts. Let Your Word pierce through our pretenses, correct our errors, and restore our passion for true ministry. Help us as ministers to walk in the Spirit and not in the shadow of social deception. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

INTRODUCTION:

We live in a time where the ministerial office is confused with social platforms. Pastors have become performers, prophets now seek popularity, and evangelists chase engagement more than souls. But God is asking:

"Are you a social minister or a spirit-filled minister?"

This message is a mirror for every pastor, prophet, evangelist, teacher, and apostle. It is time to checkmate yourself.

There is a rise in ministers who are celebrated more for their social media presence than their spiritual relevance. Many have traded the secret place of the Most High for the spotlight of men. The pulpit is becoming a stage, the anointing becoming entertainment, and the calling becoming a career. Ministers of God, you know yourself!

This is a clarion call to pastors, prophets, evangelists, and ministers of the gospel to checkmate their lives and ministries. Are you truly led by the Spirit, or have you become a social influencer masquerading as a minister?

“God is not looking for social influencers; He is looking for spiritual intercessors.”

POINT 1: SOCIAL POPULARITY VS SPIRITUAL POWER

  • You can have 1M followers and be zero in God’s rating.
  • Luke 10:20 — “Don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but that your names are written in heaven.”
  • Ask yourself: Is God still using you, or are you just being seen?

POINT 2: THE SECRET PLACE VS THE PUBLIC SPACE

  • Real power is not in what people see, but in what you build in secret.
  • Matthew 6:6 — “When you pray, go into your closet...”
  • Today, many ministers have abandoned the secret place for screen time.

POINT 3: PRAYER MOUNTAINS TURNED INTO MOVIE LOCATIONS

  • Many ministers now go to prayer mountains, beaches, or rivers, not for spiritual depth, but for social media content.
  • Cameras rolling, captions ready: "I’m interceding for you, support this prayer journey..."
  • But our fathers in the faith—men of real power—hid in caves, forests, and mountains, and returned with fire that manifested openly.
  • Today, it’s #PrayerMountainVibes and “Support my prophetic retreat” on social media.
  • Special media monetization has turned many into spiritual comedians and influencers.
  • When the altar becomes a platform for likes, you’ve already lost the presence.

POINT 4: MINISTRY OR MANIPULATION?

  • Are you led by God or led by trends?
  • Philippians 1:15-17 — Some preach Christ out of envy, strife, and ambition.
  • If you’re selling prayers and packaging the secret place for performance, you’ve crossed into spiritual marketing.

POINT 5: FAME OR FAITHFULNESS?

  • Matthew 7:21-23 — Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord"...
  • You can be famous on earth and a stranger in heaven.
  • The true metric of ministry is fruitfulness, not followers.

SELF-CHECK QUESTIONS (Checkmate Time):

  • Do I still hear God's voice or just the audience's applause?
  • When last did I weep in prayer for souls?
  • Am I preaching messages that please men or please God?
  • Is my altar cold while my camera is hot?

CALL TO REPENTANCE:

Ministers of God, it’s not too late to return to the old path. Realign your altar, your motive, your message, and your mission. The people may not see your flaws, but God does. And you—yes you—know yourself.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Lord, purge my heart from wrong motives.
  2. Holy Spirit, rekindle my passion for You above platforms.
  3. Restore my altar, my purity, and my spiritual sensitivity.
  4. Let me not be a castaway after preaching to others (1 Cor. 9:27).

CONCLUSION:

This is not a message of judgment, but a message of mercy.
God is calling His ministers back to the place of power — the Spirit-led life.
Let the stage be your altar, not a showground.
Minister, you know yourself. Return to God.
