 Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Introduction

God is not random or vague; He is intentional and detailed. From Genesis to Revelation, God gives specific instructions on how He wants things done—be it worship, leadership, sacrifices, ministry, family, or community life. These divine instructions are not for debate or modification. They are the manuscript to ensure we end well.

God never leaves His people to guess. He is intentional and detailed in how He wants His will carried out. From creation to redemption, every move God made was with clear instructions. As His creation, and especially as ministers and believers, we must stop doing things our way and follow His way—the only path that leads to lasting fruit and eternal reward.

THE PRINCIPLE OF DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS

Key Truths:

  • God is a God of order and precision.
  • Instructions from God carry both blessing and consequence.
  • God gives patterns for execution, not just visions.
  • Proverbs 14:12 – “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
  • Exodus 25:40 – “And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.”

BIBLICAL EXAMPLES

A. Noah’s Ark (Genesis 6:13–22)

  • God gave exact measurements, materials, and instructions.
  • Verse 22: “Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”
  • Result: He and his household were saved.

Lessons:

  • Obedience to divine instruction preserves destiny.
  • The ark was a symbol of salvation—only those who followed the instructions entered in and were saved.
The ark symbolizes Christ—the only place of safety from judgment.

B. Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 25, 37)

  • God gave detailed instruction to Moses.
  • The ark was not just a box—it was God’s dwelling place among men.
  • Exodus 25:10-22 – precise dimensions, materials, and purpose.
  • Exodus 37:1-9 – A golden chest covered with cherubim, housing the tablets of the law, Aaron’s rod, and manna.
  • Built by Bezalel with the spirit of wisdom, according to the divine pattern.

Lessons:

  • Worship must follow God’s pattern.
  • Irregular handling led to judgment (e.g., Uzzah in 2 Samuel 6:6–7).

C. Jesus Christ as the True Ark (New Testament Meaning)

  • The ark of Noah saved from physical destruction.
  • The Ark of the Covenant symbolized God's presence and atonement.
  • Christ is both—our ark of salvation and embodiment of God’s presence.

John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Hebrews 9:11-12 – “But Christ being come an high priest… by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”

CONSEQUENCES OF DISOBEYING DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS

  • King Saul (1 Samuel 15) – Partial obedience led to total rejection. Delayed or partial obedience is still disobedience.
  • Uzzah (2 Samuel 6:6-7) – Good intentions but wrong method = death.
  • Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1–10) – Deception in divine matters brings judgment.

MODERN EXAMPLES

Ministry

  • Ministries built without divine instructions may thrive in the flesh but fail in the Spirit.
  • Ministries that deviate from God’s instructions risk becoming performances or businesses. God’s work must be done God’s way.

Marriage & Family

  • Deviating from God’s pattern for marriage leads to instability. Ephesians 5:22–33 gives clear roles—violating them leads to chaos.

Business & Career

  • Integrity, stewardship, and purpose must align with biblical values. Compromise may yield quick gains but ends in destruction.

BENEFITS OF FOLLOWING GOD'S INSTRUCTIONS

  • Divine Presence: God backs what He initiates.
  • Favor & Protection: Like Noah, those who obey are preserved.
  • Fruitfulness & Success: God’s pattern always yields divine results.

FINAL CHARGE and Advice

For Ministers:

  • Preach only what God says, not popular trends. Build ministry on God’s blueprint, Revelation  not ambition.

For Members:

  • Follow your leaders as they follow Christ (Hebrews 13:17). Seek God's will in daily decisions.

For All:

  • Study the Word to know God's mind.
  • Wait for God's timing and method.

Jeremiah 6:16 – “Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein…”

We are not permitted to invent new ways of doing God’s work. God's ways are higher, wiser, and tested. Obedience is not optional—it is the only route to fulfillment and eternity with Christ.

It’s time to follow the manuscript. Stop using your mind to do what only the Spirit can lead. Our God is not vague. His ways are clear for those who seek Him. His instructions are the only path to a glorious end.

Prayer for Alignment

Lord, teach me to walk in Your ways. Help me to discern and obey Your divine instructions. May I not be wise in my own eyes, but submit wholly to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
