The Battle for the Church: When Blackmail Becomes a Weapon
— A Prophetic Call to Discernment, Defense, and Divine Alignment

Introduction: A Generation of Vipers and the Rising Agenda Against the Church

In Matthew 12:34, Jesus boldly declared, "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things?" This scripture aptly describes a growing wave of venomous attacks against God’s servants—spearheaded by social media influencers, digital opportunists, and spiritually blind critics. Today, men like Prophet Hezekiah Oluboye Alo of CAC and Dr. Daniel Olukoya of MFM find themselves under the fire of blackmail and false accusations—primarily engineered for fame, financial gain, and to dismantle spiritual influence.

This is not just an attack on individuals; it is a war against the identity, purity, and authority of the Church.

Current Crisis: The Rise of Digital Blackmailers and the Church’s Silence

1. Who Are the Blackmailers?

These are not merely individuals. They are tools in the hands of the enemy—some wounded church dropouts, ex-associates, paid influencers, or even apostates masked as reformers.

  • Their goal? To break the confidence of believers, create mass suspicion, and desecrate the spiritual covering over nations.
  • Their weapon? Sex scandals, falsified testimonies, voiceovers, edited videos, and scripted interviews—all powered by algorithmic amplification.

2. Why Now?

  • The devil knows that a generation is rising that would bring revival.
  • Targeting generals like Olukoya and Prophet Hezekiah is strategic—discredit the shepherd, scatter the sheep.

Implications of These Attacks

A. On the Church:

  • Disruption of trust among congregants.
  • Spiritual fatigue from constantly defending their faith.
  • Division between the old and young generations in the Church.
  • Fear of spiritual authority — creating suspicion around genuine mentorship.

B. On the Blackmailers:

  • They incur divine judgment (Psalm 105:15 – “Touch not mine anointed…”).
  • They become agents of confusion.
  • They attract curses upon generations unborn unless they repent (Galatians 6:7).

C. On the Youth:

  • If not discerning, they begin to mock what they don’t understand.
  • They lose honor for spiritual leadership and fall into the trap of self-styled spirituality.
  • They risk becoming modern-day Absaloms—rising against their spiritual fathers.

Lessons for the Youth

  1. Honor is a gate to elevation — Never join the crowd to slander a servant of God (Exodus 20:12).
  2. Don't trade discernment for trending content — Not all that is viral is verifiable.
  3. Spiritual matters must be judged spiritually — Don’t let emotions drive your conclusions (1 Corinthians 2:14).
  4. Remember Gehazi — Chasing rewards through false witness will bring leprosy of judgment.
  5. Defend your faith boldly but wisely — If you must post anything, post the truth and speak life.

The Church's Response Strategy

1. Spiritual Warfare & Vigilance

  • Engage in targeted intercession for pastors under attack.
  • Declare and cancel negative prophecies spoken through the media airwaves.

2. Media Literacy & Communication Strategy

  • Churches must invest in media teams trained to handle PR crises.
  • Produce true content, testimonies, and impactful stories to counter lies.
  • Develop a fact-check unit to instantly respond to fake news.

3. Legal Actions

  • Where necessary, pursue legal redress to deter false accusations.
  • Collaborate with ethical lawyers and media watchdogs to preserve reputation.

4. Shepherd the Flock

  • Pastors must not hide in silence. Address issues boldly with truth and grace.
  • Create safe spaces in churches where youths can ask questions, express doubts, and receive sound teaching.

A Prophetic Declaration

This is the season of purification. God is not shaken. The Church of Christ is not collapsing. Rather, we are being fortified, tested, and elevated.

  • “For no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn…” (Isaiah 54:17)
  • As Moses stood before Pharaoh, so the true Church shall stand before powers and not bow.
  • The lion shall roar again. The altars will be restored. And the gates of hell shall not prevail.

Final Charge to the Church

Arise, Watch, and Speak.
Let the elders discern. Let the prophets prophesy. Let the intercessors weep between the porch and the altar. Let the youths arise with purity and power.

This is not the time to flee; it’s time to fortify.
This is not the time to gossip; it’s time to guard.

Let the Church be wise and watchful—for the Lord is coming for a spotless bride.
